Three Tips from Lisa M. Ong, PCC, CPA

I wish you good health and prosperity in the hope of the blooming amaryllis, as spring blooms for the upcoming Lunar New Year on February 17th and invite you to participate with us in pledging your acts of kindness to help us reach one million acts by United Acts of Kindness Day on February 13, 2026.

Here are 3 of the tips that can get you started:

Unleashing the Value of Lasting Connections and Conversations That Matter

1. Be Curious First

Strong relationships start with real curiosity. Listen to understand, not to respond. Ask open questions that help people share their stories. When people feel heard, they feel valued, and that creates trust.

2. Give Before You Ask

Connections grow when you invest in others without expecting anything back. Celebrate their wins. Share helpful resources. Offer introductions that support their goals. When you give generously, people remember how you made them feel.

3. Keep the Door Open for the Future

End conversations with a simple next step. You can ask what they are excited about or what goal they are working toward. You can also offer to introduce them to someone who might help. These small actions turn one meeting into a lasting relationship.

If you want to grow as a leader and build stronger connections, you can hire Lisa to speak with your team or group. You can also join her Wishing Out Loud Circles or one of her lunch groups to learn, connect, and practice conversations that matter.
